چکیده

objectives: this study was conducted in order to analyse the effect of flat pyramid loading pattern (fplp) weight training on salivary steroids levels in strength training athletes. methods: eleven elite male weightlifters trained six days per week for one month. five millilitres of unstipulated whole saliva was obtained pre- and five minutes post-exercise at days first, 15th, and 30th. results: resting and postexercise concentrations of testosterone and cortisol, and the free testosterone to cortisol ratio (ftcr) significantly changed during the training month with higher concentrations of testosterone and cortisol being observed at day 30th. discussion: it would appear that testosterone and cortisol respond positively and similarly to increasing resistance training load. conclusions: our study medicated that the responses of these hormones to exercise depend on volume and intensity of exercise.

The Effect of Treadmill-based Incremental Leg Weight Loading Training on the Balance of Stroke Patients

[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of treadmill-based gait training using incremental weight loading on the ankle of the affected side on hemiplegic stroke patients' balance. [Subjects] In this study, 30 hemiplegic stroke patients were randomly divided into an incremental weight load group (IWLG, n=15) and a no-load group (NLG, n=15). [Methods] The IWLG performed gait...

Weight knowledge and weight magnitude: impact on lumbosacral loading.

Several factors can impact lumbosacral loads during lifting, including weight knowledge and weight magnitude. However, interaction between them has never been tested. This study investigated the interaction effect of these variables on lumbosacral forces and moments. Participants performed symmetrical lifts using three different weights. Weight knowledge involved known and unknown weight condit...

Spinal loading during circuit weight-training and running.

Spinal shrinkage was used as an indicant of loading on the spine in circuit weight-training and running regimes. The loss of stature during two sets of a circuit of weight-training (n = 10), a 6 km run by novices (n = 9) and a 25 km run by trained runners (n = 7) was assessed in male subjects. Shrinkage was not significantly different between the weight-training regime and the 6 km run by novic...

The Effect of Creatine Monohydrate Loading on Downhill Running-induced Inflammatory Response in Elite Male Mountaineers

Abstract Background & Aims: In regard to the limited studies about the effect of creatine on exercise-induced inflammatory responses, the present study was conducted to identify the effect of creatine monohydrate loading on response of serum C-reactive protein (CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and peripheral blood leucocytes following one bout downhill running in male mountain climbers. Methods: Twen...
